Heading on a road trip with my people this week. We’ll be a little squished in our car, there will be tense moments and it will be slightly uncomfortable at times but it will be so worth it!
The longer I live the more I realize getting away is so good for us. There are no deadlines, no distractions and very few expectations to meet (can I get an amen from all those 3’s out there?). We aren’t tethered to anything but each other. We make sweet memories and reconnect in ways we can only do when we are away from home.
I've found a little bit of prep makes all the difference. Here's a tip for packing for vacation that will make it easier on the trip AND when you return!
PACK EACH DAY’S OUTFIT IN A ZIPTOP BAG
This works great for kids! Each morning they grab a ziptop bag and put on clean clothes. At the end of the day dirty clothes go into that same bag and back into the suitcase. This eliminates dirt and odor from creeping into the rest of the suitcase. Better yet, when returning from the trip, just empty all the ziptop bags directly into the washing machine. You won’t have to spend time sifting through dirty/clean clothes in the suitcase - a daunting task after arriving home from a long trip.
